If you have established a new registered apprenticeship program since July 1, 2024, you may qualify for an incentive of $2,500 for any apprentices hired. Eligible employers have until July 1, 2026 to apply.
To qualify, you must:
- Be a registered apprenticeship program with the Department of Labor
- Have a newly established program on July 1, 2024 or later in one of the following industries:
- Education services
- Care economy
- Tech/cybersecurity
- Supply chain
- Infrastructure
- Other industries approved by Workforce Services
- Be in good standing with Workforce Services Unemployment Insurance
You can apply for the incentive for up to 10 apprentices. Each apprentice must:
- Have participated in the registered apprenticeship program
- Be authorized to work in the United States
- Have been employed for at least 30 days from the date of hire as an apprentice
To receive the incentive, complete the
interest form.
You will be contacted and need to do the following:
- Complete the registered apprenticeship employer incentive agreement
- Provide verification that the apprentice is registered. This could be done by providing the DOL Form 671 or a Davis-Bacon certificate
- Provide paycheck stubs or other employer records showing that the apprentice has worked 30 days
- Provide the signed and dated title page of the Registered Apprenticeship Standards
- Be set up to receive payments from the State of Utah
